Europe should stop implementing Trump’s warmongering agenda and support peace

Following the lead of President Trump, governments across western Europe are making preparations for a future war against Russia. Whilst Russia has no intention of attacking any of these countries, their governments need to establish legitimacy for their warmongering, so they are misinforming their populations with propaganda that they are facing a military attack from Russia. They are trying to persuade people that it is justified to transfer huge resources away from their living standards and welfare to finance a massive military build-up across Europe.

Britain and most EU states are going along with these US-led preparations for war in Europe. Whilst Britain is not in the EU, through its warmongering role in NATO, it backs up Trump’s pressure on the other European states.

The EU is currently discussing its 2026 budget and the current proposals before the European Parliament contain massive increases in military spending.

Stop ReArm Europe, a coalition of 800 organisations, (including in Britain: No Cold War Britain, CND and the Stop The War Coalition) is calling on MEPs to reject these proposals. The full text of their letter to MEPs can be read here.
