Five times NATO has posed a threat to humanity Despite its proclaimed commitment to a “rules-based” order, NATO’s track record tells an entirely different story.

In 2011 NATO carried out a military assault on Libya under the false guise of 'humanitarianism' to overthrow the Libyan government and achieve regime change in the country with Africa's largest known oil reserves. NATO's intervention transformed Libya into a failed state.

NATO's eastward expansion is the key cause of the Ukraine war- which has caused devastating human suffering and added to global economic turmoil. Since February 2022 the US and Europe have escalated this proxy war with the goal of "weakening Russia."

NATO conducted a war on Yugoslavia which killed 3,000 people and displaced 100,000+. The airstrikes destroyed the country's infrastructure including hospitals, schools and churches, obliterating 164 state-owned factories while remarkably sparing every foreign-owned firm.

The nearly two-decade-long presence of the US and NATO in Afghanistan, culminating in their chaotic withdrawal in August 2021, resulted in over 30,000 civilian deaths and more than 60,000 injuries and 11 million more people displaced.

Today the US wants its Global North allies to join its military build-up against China. NATO states are increasing their military presence in the Asia-Pacific by sending warships to the South China Sea. AUKUS has begun discussions to expand by inviting Japan.
