Trump’s blockade of Iran hurts everyone: End the US blockade Now

The US blockade of Iran is attacking the living standards of people across the world, with Global South countries and poor people in Global North countries being the most brutally effected. Meanwhile billionaires, oligarchs and oil companies will, as is their wont, extract maximum profits from the crisis.

By May 2026 oil prices had already sharply risen due to the US/Israeli war on Iran. With the US planning a prolonged blockade of Iran, oil prices will continue rising and inflation will further increase.

Many governments especially in Asia have introduced emergency measures that include fuel rationing and cuts in fuel taxes. The longer the blockade persists the worse the attack on living standards of the majority of the world’s population will be. Besides, the US can renew bombing of Iran at any time including attacks into the Strait of Hormuz with similar impact on global oil supply. The US has no regard whatever for the suffering caused by its wars and economic attacks

The OECD anticipates that the UK will be the worst hit of the G20 countries.

Prices are rising and government says that there will be an inflation spike - which will increase pressure on the the cost of living.

It is imperative that the U.K. government defends its population’s living standards and does everything it can to halt this potential cost of living crisis.

A prerequisite for that is ending the US blockade of Iran and an end to the war.

The UK government must demand an immediate end to:
the US blockade of the Strait of Hormuz
the US war on Iran
US use of British bases
